Okay, so here we go. I am Noah Ginex. I was born in Chicago, and soon after, put under bili lights. This was because I had jaundice. Also, I was a breech birth, so I came out blue. For a very brief period, I can tell ya, it wasn'teasy being green. From a very early age, I began drawing on things. Walls, paper, my stomach... And soon had built up, at the age of four, a nice portfolio of high-quality drawings. Then I got glasses. Never give glasses to a kid who thinks his art is great. Luckily for me, everyone else in my family also drew, so I caught up fast. We used to sit around the kitchen table, or in my case, on the kitchen table, and draw for hours at a time. During the night.
During the day, we spent our time at Near North Montessori School, where me, my two brothers Gabe and Daniel, and my mom, all went to school and or worked. After 12 years of that experience (I started 3-6 at 2 1/2), I took my wares on over 'cross the tracks, to St. Ignatius College Prep, a Catholic highschool. I am not Catholic. Aside from a great education, it was 4 years of alot of standupsitdown, cuz there was a mass every other day. After that mess was over, I came away with little more than a cool diploma, a few really good friends, and a greater knowledge of religion than I had planned on. What next?! ON TO ART SCHOOL! I went to Columbia College Chicago, where I spent 4 years doing little more than what was required, which I regret to this day, because it was the perfect opportunity for me to use their amazing facilities to build up my portfolio. I started in Directing for Film/Video, but soon switched to Animation, because I got scared of Tom Fraterrigo. In the animation department, I found a home, but still didn't do much that wasn't required. As it was, I came away with a nice 37 second finished cartoon, which my mom taped over with an episode of The Cosby Show. Not her fault. I have since recovered most of it, and am in the process of repairing the dialogue. I also made a couple of stop motion things, and a nice piece of cutout animation that I used as an ad for WNEP Theater. You can find the ad on the Film Page(when I update it), and at WNEP's site. Which brings us to the next portion of our story.
I found my way to WNEP Theater, because My best friend Thomas, who I've linked to earlier, worked with their artistic director, Jen Ellison, at a place. With a guy. She had asked Thomas and myself to be plants in the audience of their current show, My Grandmother's a Fat Whore In Jersey, playing at the Wing and Groove Theater. We were to sit in the audience, acting like normal people, and then slowly start making more and more noise and distraction, Until Jen and Matt Kaye dragged us up onto the stage, and I had to hold Tom down while they be'd mean to him. At first we discussed them breaking his glasses, but we abandoned that, because Thomas likes his glasses. So after this act of meanness, they threw us out of the show, to the cheers of their audience. From then on, I went to a bunch of different shows they did, until Jen asked me to do lights for The Mysteries of Harris Burdick. At this point I had already been helping around the theater, putting the seats in, painting, sweeping after shows, so it only made sense for me to do something official. I soon was voted in as an Artistic Associate, and the rest is history. By which I mean, I'll write more later. Now, to link!
